OUR GROUP

The Queensland Crabbet Arabian Group Inc was formed in July 1988.  Its aims, as worded in the initial motion to begin the Group, are:
"That we support, encourage and advance the breeding,
riding, training, exhibition and promotion of the Crabbet Arabian.  That we become an Affiliate of the Arabian Horse Society of Australia Ltd.  That we provide a central contact point for people interested in Crabbet Arabians."

DEFINITION OF A PURE CRABBET ARABIAN:  A Pure Crabbet Arabian [100% Crabbet blood] is one which traces in all lines of its pedigree to Pure Arabian horses bred or owned by Lady Anne and Wilfrid Blunt, Lady Wentworth and Cecil Covey or the Crabbet Stud.

DEFINITION OF A CRABBET-RELATED ARABIAN:  A Crabbet-related or high-percentage Crabbet Arabian is one which has 75% or more Crabbet blood.

NOTE: Some Shows also have classes for Crabbet-influenced horses which are of a minimum of 50% Crabbet breeding.  The Top of the Range Show has these classes in its annual Crabbet Crusade which is supported by our Group.
